"I HATE MAHJONG"
That's the phrase that always come out from Saki when it comes to mahjong..
At first we see Saki, a first-year high school girl, sitting by the river reading a book...
She was taking a break when she saw a beautiful pink-hair with overly-sized breast freshman..
While Saki's comparing her breast with the girl's, Kyou, Saki's mid-school friend came and asked
her what she's doing...
Saki got surprised and told Kyou not to scare her...
Then Kyou asked Saki to come to the cafeteria and get him the "ladies lunch"...
While having his meal, Kyou busying himself with his cellphone that Saki asked him if he's
text messaging...
But Kyou's actually playing virtual mahjong...
And he asked Saki if she can play!!
Saki told him that she can, but hates it!!
So Kyou brings her to the school's Mahjong Club, and there she met the girl she saw earlier..
The girl, Nodoka is actually the champion of the previous national middle school tourney..
After that Yuuki, another member of the club came...
So they decided to play a game..
Since the club president is taking a nap, Saki was made to play with them...
Saki said to herself that it is the first time for her to play against people other than
her family..
Hisa, the club president woke up when they're playing the 3rd and last round..
Hisa peeked at Saki's hand, and said she has a good one and there should be no problem
for her to score high..
When she looks at the previous 2 rounds' record, she was surprised to see Saki got
plus-minus zero in both rounds...
And more surprised when Saki scored low than she should in the last round...
And furthermore surprised when she knew Saki also got plus-minus zero in it...
Saki went home straight after the game, leaving the mahjong club members..
Straight plus-minus zero in 3 rounds...
That should be impossible, since it is hard even for pro to do!!
It shouldn't be a coincidence Hisa told the 3 mahjong club members...
She purposely did it...
What if she has the ability to do so??
Hearing what Hisa said, Nodoka chased after Saki...
Catched up to her, she asked Saki why did she play like that..
Saki explained that she always play with her family in the past. If she lose, she won't get
any candy. And if she wins big, she got scolded..
That's why she started to play like that...
Then she told Nodoka that she don't like playing Mahjong which makes Nodoka feel frustrated..
The next day, Hisa saw Saki in the library looking for a book which the library does not have..
Hisa said to Saki that she own the book and asked if she wants to borrow..
But under a condition...
She must play another game with them...
Mako, another member of the club replaced Kyou in the game...
Now Saki has to play against Yuuki, Nodoka and Mako..
In the last round, Nodoka puts Saki in a pinch where any wrong move by Saki can lead her
not to get plus-minus zero..
But Saki did a brilliant move, and made a miracle............!!!

Oh no, this is not good...
Alright... You see...
Actually I got a problem with this kind of anime..
I can't watch anime which focuses on board games, card games, or music..
For example, I watch Hikaru no Go, and not long after that I started playing Go...
I watch Yu-Gi-Oh, not long after that I started playing Yugioh card game...
I watch Haruhi's God Knows Concert, not long after that I started practicing lead guitar,
leaving bass behind....
I watch Kiniro no Corda, not long after that I started learning keyboard and read music..
I even planned to get myself a violin at the end of this year...
And now Mahjong!!?
I'm currently reading a tutorial on how to play it while posting this review!!!
Anyways below are some screenshots:
